With the current social media storm focused on mid-term elections in the U.S.A, I thought it might be fun to think about how Sam and Dean would fit into it all.

There have been allusions to politics, through recent seasons, with Leviathans being heavily poised to go that route. There was a remark to au hunters (I think) about the current SPN world President being an-ex reality show host,and there was a whole episode called LOTUS where the President was possessed by Lucifer, and if that isn't some political shade, I don't know what is.

I don't remember many political references prior to season 7, but maybe somebody can correct me. In one of the time jump episodes I also seem to recall Dean enjoying mentioning that the President is a black man but I don't have the episodes on hand to check. Can any of you clever fandom folk confirm this?

Anyhow, if the politics of Supernatural do mimic those in the real word, then today Sam and Dean will be in a world where important mid-term elections are happening. Bearing in mind that the boys are currently harboring some rather illegal immigrants in the bunker, does anyone have any headcanon on how they would vote? Do you agree with the way that the show represents politics? Maybe, in their world, monsters and demons are responsible for corruption of politicians? Are the boys cozily registered in their own name, with the zip code of the bunker or do they commit voter fraud to cast their ballot? Do they vote at all? Are they too busy hunting monsters and babysitting the vessel of Satan?

Give us your headcanons. Hell, give us some creations. I am suddenly greedy for fic and art of the boys casting their ballot, or in line covered in the blood and grime from a hunt they've rushed back from, to vote. I need them wearing an 'I voted' sticker, or maybe canvassers nervously knocking on the bunker door to get their last minute vote. I want Sam hacking the system so they can cast their ballot from afar, or just the boys, shamelessly killing the demon-candidate in the toilets while the results are being declared.

So, yes, ahem, thoughts anyone?
