I have finished my move across the border and to the coast. I'm rid of the old house and the town which I never fit into and I feel better for it.

The rub of it is that I have had to communicate with multiple people and organisations and it has been draining. I have nothing left to communicate online. In those circumstances I would normally post pics of the good things, to share. Silly me, I haven't managed to set up any photo sharing accounts, I just can't get the hang of them in my fried-brain state.
Is it enough then to just say that I still appreciate you all and enjoy your news? That I'm out here in RL, lurking in your fandom lives? And thank you for being there? 


*edit* woohoo I found the dreamwidth photo hosting so here's one of my favourite new places to walk when I can convince myself to get outside.

Congrats on your move! Sorry to hear it's draining lately, but it sounds like a good long-term life choice.

Thanks. It is a long term plan and I'm trying to keep some momentum going so though I kind of collapsed in a lazy heap today I did manage to join the local library. Got to sort out the important things!!

Oh goodness, what a gorgeous place! I'm thrilled for you to be there, and that you're rid of the place that never fit. It takes time to gather yourself after such a life upheaval, so take the time. Libraries are good! As are walks (or sits!) by the seaside.

Take a deep breath and listen to the sea a few moments for me, would you? It's great to hear from you.

Yesterday evening I managed to walk down the hill (cliff) to the beach and I prepared a flask of coffee before I went so I stopped to sit on a big drift-log on the beach and just watched the waves coming in, listening to the crash and scrape. It is hypnotic. I discovered an arcade with tuppenny slots and spent 50p, won 54p. Then I walked all the way back up the hill - the longer but less steep way, gathering some blackberries along the way. I didn't feel too puffed afterwards, so I was proud of myself for it. A few tourists stopped for a chat along the way too and it was too hilly to rush away so I coped.
The library was a bit of a cheat since I could join online but once I have my card I will pop in.

Sounds fabulous--I'm so proud of you for making the changes you needed.

Another friend spent decades in the desert and finally moved--she's on an island now, making up for all that lack of water. She's found the community she's always longed for, and is discovering new things, people, and activities every day. It's what she needed.

This is obviously what you needed. I'm happy for both of you!
