Wohoo. The [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_bigbang schedule is now up. There are so many amazing looking collaborations that I am excited for my Summer reading.

I thought I'd go with the trend and post my summary. I had a nail biting wait for an artist to claim me but it was well worth it, because the story was claimed by the awesome artist [livejournal.com profile] amber1960 . I'm really excited about what she will bring to my fic. It is inspiring me to get on with the nasty task of editing wherein I would quite like to cut the text from 74K down to about 70K, while still adding a few details .... and then editing again after the beta. Luckily my posting date is bang in the middle, on July 18th.

So, I have an older Jensen with a teenage Jared (29/17) and I am awful at summarizing - but here, such that it is ...

Have Hatred And Gravity Won (The title is taken from from the Switchfoot song, Revenge)
Jensen's mission was to infiltrate the compound as the President's slave, get security data out and his team of ruthless mercenaries in. It wasn't supposed to involve the President's bratty teenage son. Nowhere had he read the line about becoming Jared's personal slave. It wasn't supposed to get messy and personal, but then it did, and Jensen's revenge put them both on the run. Out of options, and with his trust destroyed, Jared lost himself in a grim new life, while Jensen was going find himself somewhere between the bright shores of Morocco, and the rest of the world. Somehow, it didn't matter who they were, where they went, or how much they hated each other, their attraction was like gravity, pulling them together again.

Now, chase me away to get this done!

Commas ... I hate commas ... gone.

Commas are Satan's punctuation. I never know where to put them, so I, randomly, put them, everywhere. LOL :)

I was worried that everyone was avoiding it, because it looks so dark, so that makes me feel better. Thanks.

I angsted over the summary and especially warnings and I'm sure it looked worse than it is - but I'm thrilled with the outcome. I think we all got good collaborations.

I can't imagine where you would cut down because what I always kept thinking was more. Because just remember a good story is never too long. I am patiently awaiting getting my hands on the revisions. And can't wait for everyone else to be able to read your awesome fic.

haha. There are no big sections disappearing but when I read through after a break from it, I always see where my sentences can be sharper, and notice excessive adjectives. Sometimes I know, when I'm writing that the it's over-wordy but I don't want to break the plot flow. I fix it later. With any fic on the first draft I always think there are words that just aren't needed - especially my 'just's and 'slightly's I'm betting that for all my goals it will stay at 74K or increase because I do need better descriptions and characterization, but I like to aim for a good hard edit.
I am getting there, I promise.

You've written 74k word count? JFC, do you ever sleep? \o/ *jealous*

Glad you're happy with your artist! :)

I don't sleep as much as I should, so don't be jealous! I cut back on last year's length at least. I've now seen the art draft, and all I can say is wow - I hope I do it justice.
In the meantime there is a little fic I have written for J2_crack for their opening week. There may be a kink involved that I've never written before ;)
