I'm not generally one for analyzing episodes of my shows or meta and generally I don't look for anything to do with shipping but um ...this ...

The handcuffs had me at first glance because they were just there - and the pocket with them was already open.

Then I looked at the case, and it wasn't the casual sports bag I associate with the boys throwing their clothes in. 

This  leads to only one conclusion in my Wincesty mind. Sam and Dean were just about to start a scene because clearly that is the case they keep their toys in. No wonder Dean was so pissed with Grandpa when he gatecrashed the party .... he's been teased mercilessly by Sam on a long journey about what is gonna happen after they check into their motel room - then they're finally there, not even had a chance to shower and shave when wham - Henry is out of the closet. More teasing by Sam until they can sneak time together behind Grandpa's back.

I need a fic about this ... gives Sam's puppy dog eyes at her flist.

Ohhh I agreed! This is the first episode in a while that the boys seem to be on the same page. You could feel the "brotherly love". :-P I really love how after Dean was so upset with Grandpa Henry and left the room. Sam gave Grandpa a sad, almost apologetic look and quickly chase after his lover, cough I mean brother. :-) So good!! Welcome back boys!!! :-)

It was lovely to see. I actually also loved that we got a bit of demon flinging and attempted exorcism - for a while there I thought the writers had forgotten about that - recent demons have been pathetically human. They were back into the routine weren't they? - and Sam got tied and handcuffed in one ep *mmm, Cate's faraway happy smile* Not happy with poor Baby getting a window smashed though *BAD Henry*

Oh, oh - also how great was it to have powerful threatening brothers moving in together to shut Henry down, just before Henry handcuffed them - reminiscent of late series 5 for me.

I too flinched when that happened! I cried out, "Not, Baby!" Lol. Grandpa Henry is lucky Dean didn't pistol whip him!

But the best part aside from Sam getting handcuffed was Dean basically saying outright that Sam was HIS everything. He was even willing to sacrifice his blood/family for a CHANCE of saving his Sammy. Loved it!! I was sad to see bookworm Grandpa go though. He did bring a different vibe to the story, but alas, there can only be two Winchesters in the world.

Yeah, I wondered about the handcuffs too. Loving your headcanon here. I hadn't noticed the case. Hm...

I have to say though that given the fact that Henry isn't a hunter, his being able to handcuff the boys so cleverly isn't quite believable.

I was soooo happy to see protective Dean back, and Sammy basically running to Dean when Abbadon releases him ... brother feels, big time. No matter how much the mature and literally grow up, on an emotional level there will always be big brother Dean and little Sammy.

After my rewatch I decided I definitely loved this one - my headcanon is flawed tho' because looking again I think this was after the event, not before - it was morning. Ah well Winchesters don't keep to the clock.
There were a few little annoyances for me but you know me, I can overlook TRex size continuity holes for a good story and emotion!

I refuse to look too closely becuase I suspect that Dean has the same under-pillow design as Sam on his bed - but I am certain that his Sammy put it there for him if only cos it's too sweet to want to think anything else. Thank you :)
