Has anyone on my f-list had problems with editing and posting lately - missing letters and random format changes.
If so, did it get resolved and how?
I have some fic -and with the current situation I just can't post it here (If you want to see what I mean look at the mess which is my masterlist since I added the latest drabble) *sniff*
*EDIT* I had a reply from LJ support which acknowledged the problem as one of the reasons they did maintenance last week - and it was to do with using several servers for a task in peak periods - so while it should now be fixed - I'm thinking that one resolution may be to edit in non-peak times if there was an issue. They did also send through a back-up copy of my master list from before my edits - I lost the comments but it would have been a stupid amount of work to mend. The copy has posted and edited perfectly - so if anyone else has a majorly screwed up post, then it wouldn't harm to contact support and ask for a copy :)

Date: 2012-12-24 01:16 am (UTC)The only way I solved it was to have two windows open. One with my story as posted and the second page with the html and I would search through the html for the broken words and fix them on the code side. Fixing them on the 'easy editor tab' didn't work. You need to track down every time you shift from bold to italics or regular, that error will happen and adding a link give you the 'irreparable markup error' so I hard coded those as well.
I think LJ must have done a new 'snazzy' update.

Date: 2012-12-27 10:23 pm (UTC)And, a couple of times when I went in to make changes it started adding long lines of html code that I don't want, so I'm stuck with broken links and a whole story in bold and, dammit, it's easier to leave the typos in.

Date: 2012-12-28 02:13 am (UTC)I've been posting exclusively in the old style window and it seems to be working at the moment but it may be that I just haven't noticed the little bastard errors. God I hope not!
I've had no reply to my support request and it pisses me off, especially as I have a paid account.
Grr. No doubt this will be channelled into nasty, dark, angry fic ..
